To provide a device for heating vegetation culture media by microwave induction heating which solves the following problem: energy conservation has been required due to inflating crude oil price in view of the fact that much energy is consumed to be supplied for greenhouses used for growth of plants such as vegetables.
The heating device is designed so as to heat the vicinity of a place at which the loot of the plant growing in a greenhouse extends, specifically the main part of culture media, in a concentrated manner, and is structured as follows: laying a waveguide tube 5 provided with a slit antenna 6 in the field; and connecting a microwave-sending machine 3 to one end of the tube to send magnetron 4 into the waveguide tube 5. The magnetron 4 leaks through the slit antenna 6 and hits against a dielectric material 7 and the soil covering the circumference of the antenna in advance to heat them. In order to heat the culture media for the plant, the device is improved in economical efficiency owing to utilization of a plastic tube for the wave-inducing pipe 5, and heat efficiency owing to utilization of crushed material (dielectric material 7) or the like being an oxidized slug generated in an electric furnace and subjected to forced oxidation or the like to have a large dielectric ratio, for the culture media.
