To substantially reduce an influence when a superconductive cable is short-circuited.
The device includes a superconductive cable SK including a superconductive conductor 1 and a superconductive screen 3 which surround the superconductive conductor through a dielectric 2 and ia surrounded together with a space FR for carrying a coolant by a cryostat KR including two metal tubes 4, 5 which are vacuum-insulated from each other and configured to be concentric to each other. A tubular closed layer 7 of a ferromagnetic material is provided outside the superconductive screen and across the entire length of the superconductive cable. The layer is preferably arranged around the periphery of the cryostat. The ferromagnetic material increases the inductance of the conductor to limit a current.
