PURPOSE: To provide the subject device for an intermediate storage of yarn especially for recovering the cutting of yarn in a spinning machine by installing a drivable yarn storage roller for avoiding a sliding movement between the yarn and the roller and housing an orderly spiral yarn layer.

CONSTITUTION: This device for intermediate storage of yarn is provided by installing a drivable yarn storage roller 21 for housing the yarn 17' as a spiral state, having a yarn guiding element 26 for turning the advancing yarn 17' to the roller 21 and also engaging a yarn turning device 23 capable of traveling in an axial direction of the roller 21 with the roller 21.
