Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolled stock joining device with which a prescribed cutting is executed with a cutter driving motor having small output, thus, the driving motor is miniaturized, the cutter and the motor are easily connected and equipment is made compact.
SOLUTION: In this rolled stock joining device in which a cutting device for cutting the underside in the rear end part of a preceding rolled stock and upside in the tip part of the succeeding rolled stock is provided and, with which those cut surfaces are overlapped and joined, a cylindrical cutter 19a which is rotationally driven around the axis of rotation in the width direction of the rolled stock and a flywheel 32 which is directly connected with the cylindrical cutter are provided. A rotational driving device 34 is directly connected with the cutter. The output torque TM of the rotational driving device 34 is set smaller than required cutting torque TR and the moment I of inertia around the axis of rotation of the flywheel is set so that the deceleration time t1 down to a prescribed rotational speed N1 by the torque difference ΔT is sufficiently longer than the required cutting time rc.
