Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a display unevenness or the like close to a sealant caused by generation of a conductive defect due to any overheating before pressurizing or by fluctuation of gap width in thermosetting the peripheral sealing material by pressing and heating cell substrates of a liquid crystal display at a specified pressure.
SOLUTION: In pressing and heating a mother substrate M (cell substrate 1) of a liquid crystal display between a lower side heating table 10 and an upper side heating table 20, a tray 11 vertically movable against the table 10 is provided, and the tray 11 is kept at a position with a specified height on the table 10 with a tray holding means 12 until the substrate M is set and the heat treatment begins.
