Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the intrusion and approach of an object into an optionally shaped monitoring area (space marking area) designated in a space with nothing existing by utilizing a distance image measuring instrument such as a stereo vision device and a range finder to examine interference between a distance image of the distance image measuring instrument and the designated area and detecting the intrusion of the object into the designated area and a distance to the object.
SOLUTION: A space marking device of the present invention is provided with a detecting means for setting a monitoring area of a fixed shape in a space and detecting the intrusion of the object into the monitoring area and the distance up to the object.
