To provide a device and a method for bending a tube which has high quality, high accuracy and high general applicability.
In a tube bending device in which the tube extruded from a fixed die is pushed through the other die, the other die is constituted of: a half positioning die provided with an inside semicircular port which is brought into linear contact with the side face of the inner peripheral side of the bend of the tube; and a half moving die which is freely slidably supported, pressed against the half positioning die and provided with the outside semicircular port which is brought into linear contact with the side face of the outer peripheral side of the bend of the tube. When the half moving die is pressed against the half positioning die, a ring-like threading hole having approximately equal inside diameter to the outside diameter of the tube in a position of the tube which is bent at the radius Rd at the center of bend is formed. A position adjusting mechanism for situating and fixing the inside semicircular port in the position on the side face of the inner peripheral side of the bend of the tube which is bent at the radius Rd at the center of the bend by moving the half positioning die back and forth to the tube, a pressing mechanism for the half moving die, and a tube feeding mechanism for pushing the tube through the threading hole are provided.
