To provide a device and a method for cleaning the cooling slot surfaces on the rotor wheel of a gas turbine.
This cleaning system comprises a plurality of roughly dovetail-shaped slot blocks 30 having slots 38 along the radial inner surface, a grinding means or a belt 32, and a backing tube 34. The blocks are inserted into the dovetail slots of the rotor wheel 11, and immediately after the block slots are arranged in the cooling slots 16 in order, the grinding means 32 and the backing tube 34 are inserted into a cooling slot tunnel. The grinding means can extend through the end part feeder block. The device can clean, without disassembling a rotor, the surfaces of the cooling slots by the movements of the rotor such that a force is applied to the rotor manually from the outside of a rim in the state of applying a pressing force in the radial outer direction to the grinding means by the backing tube.
