Abstract:

To allow a robot to acquire accurate external environmental information with its autonomous action.

The robot has a plurality of input units including image, voice, contact and pressure sensitiveness. All or partial action of body components including a head, arms, lower extremities and a trunk is used to make an intentional change in response to information input from a visual sensor, a microphone, a switch or a pressure sensitive sensor, whereby external factors can be properly obtained for determining action. For example, body action is developed on 'recognizing an object with a hand held to glares' or 'addressing a turned-back person and get him/her turned around for identifying his/her forehead'.
