Abstract:

To surely and accurately detect an inserting tip position and the tip direction while miniaturizing an insertion tool to easily insert it into a narrow organic tissue and to have little bad influence on the organic tissue.

An inserting part 3 into the organic tissue of a catheter 2 as an example of a medical insertion tool is made of a flexible magnetic material of high magnetic permeability, a permanent magnet 5 for generating magnetic field is attached to an insertion basic end part of the inserting part 3 made of the magnetic material of high magnetic permeability, and a magnetic sensor 6 is mounted independently from the catheter 2 for detecting the magnetic field leaked from the tip of the inserting part 3.
