To provide a device and a method for forming a side surface of a work with high accuracy.
This forming device comprises a first roller 23 group disposed around a work feed shaft 12, and a second roller 33 group disposed around the work feed shaft 12 on the downstream side of the work feeding direction. A forming surface to form a side surface of a work 71 is formed on circumferential surfaces of the rollers 23 and 33, a circumferential surface of the roller on the work feed shaft 12 is rotatable in the work feeding direction, and a center space surrounded by the roller groups is demarcated around the work feed shaft 12. In this device, a first forming step is performed when the work 71 passes through the center space of the first roller 23 group, and a second forming step is additionally performed when the work 71 formed in the first forming step passes through the center space of the second roller group.
