Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for hot rolling a bar stock by which the production of a bar stock is increased by rolling a small diameter bar stock from a base stock having a large cross-sectional shape.
CONSTITUTION: The rolling device is provided with a roughing line 2 in which the base stock W which is introduced from a heating furnace at a speed VI is rolled by non-twist rolling with horizontal and vertical mills 12, 13, intermediate line 4 in which the base stock which is delivered from the roughing line is rolled by non-twist rolling with horizontal and vertical mills 14, 15 and delivered at a speed VM and finishing lines 6, 6 which are arranged on the downstream side of the intermediate line in two lines and have horizontal and vertical mills 16, 17 with which the base stock is rolled into a prescribed product shape. Intermediate coiling areas 8 are interposed between the intermediate line and the finishing lines and plural coiling devices 20 with which the base stock which is delivered from the intermediate line is selectively supplied to one side of the finishing lines are provided in the intermediate coiling areas.
