Abstract:
To provide a device and a method for marking an article capable of marking both a cylindrical article and a flat plate-like article and effectively and continuously marking a plurality of articles, in the device and method for marking a character or a pattern on the periphery of articles.
A plurality of articles 5 to be marked are stored in a article holding tool 2 which is moved to successively position the articles 5 to a marking position. A marking unit 7 is moved in the biaxial direction relative to the article 5. For a cylindrical article, the article 5 is held and rotated to be marked. For a flat plate-like article, the moving function of the article holding tool 2 is used to move the article 5 to be marked.
