Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a device for measuring, on the ground, the thrust of a propulsion device used in the space in which the inaccuracy of measurement, due to support of the weight of a power cable and a propulsive gas supply conduit by an equalizer, can be solved by separating the propulsion device from the equalizer.

CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring, on the ground, the thrust of a propulsion device used in the space has a measuring device 11 related to an equalizer 1 in order to measure the thrust added by the equalizer 1 and the propulsion device P. The equalizer 1 has a target 13 to which the exhaust jet of the propulsive device P is directed, the propulsive device P is mechanically independent from the structure of the equalizer 1, and the measuring device measures the force added to the equalizer 1 in order to equalize the thrust added to the equalizer 1 by the jet of the propulsion device P.
