To provide a melt-treating device which is compact in composition and cleanly melt-treats asbestos waste materials.
The device for melt-treating asbestos waste materials is provided with; a device main body 10 having the first combustion room 1303 and the second combustion room 1304 formed so that it may surround the first combustion room 1303; a combustion burner 201 which is arranged in the first combustion room 1303 and feeds a heated gas; and a heating container 15 which is arranged in the first combustion room 1303 and accommodates asbestos waste materials. The heating container 15 has a bottom and a tightly closable aperture on its upper part. In the heating container 15, a communication part 1531, which communicates with the upper part of the second combustion room 1304 without communication with the first combustion room 1303, is formed. A combustion gas generated in the first combustion room 1303 is emitted into the second combustion room 1304 through a combustion gas emitting part 1305, and a combustion gas generated in the second combustion room 1304 is emitted outside through a flue 30.
