Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate opening system for opening a cargo chamber in a hands-free state.SOLUTION: A gate opening system includes: a gate 14 for a vehicle which is movable between an open position and a closed position with respect to a vehicle 10; a gate actuator fixed to the vehicle and the gate for operating the movement of the gate between the open position and the closed position; and a camera 16 mounted on the vehicle, and turned into an external direction for supplying the view of a region adjacent to the vehicle. When an ECU 18 determines that a predetermined operation by a vehicle operator has occurred on the basis of the image analysis of the image of the camera, a remote keyless entry system operates the gate actuator to cause the gate to move from the closed position to the open position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
