Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect picture data without omission to prevent the occurrence of error of input data due to meandering or the scanning speed by allowing picture data detected by a hand scanner to correspond to the coordinate system of a coordinate reader and outputting coordinate values. CONSTITUTION:A processing circuit 5 calculates the reflection intensity of picture data detected by each of photosensitive elements XO-XE based on coordinate positions of coils 12a and 12b provided in a position detecting part 1a of a band scanner 1 and picture data sent from a picture detecting part 1b and allows picture data to correspond to the coordinate system of the coordinate reader. Though the hand scanner 1 is meandered as shown by dotted lines, the position and the inclination of the hand scanner 1 are calculated at intervals of a minute movement extent, for example, in each of coordinate positions a-a', b-b', and c-c' of coils 12a and 12b. Distances from a reference position (distances from the coil 12a) of photosensitive elements X1, X2, and X3 which detect a straight line (m) as the object to be detected are calculated and absolute coordinate values of picture data are inputted.
