Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for preventing slab torsion of a width reduction press, which prevent the slab torsion from occurring during width reduction of a hot slab by a width press device.SOLUTION: In a device for preventing slab torsion of a width reduction press, one of a plurality of pairs of upper and lower vertical motion restraining rolls 3 and 4 is provided in each of a plurality of positions in a slab width direction and one or more positions in a longitudinal direction of the slab, between molds 2 and 2 of a width press device for reducing a width to a target slab width by performing intermittent width reduction of a hot slab 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
