To provide a device and method for determining the installation position of a measuring instrument where the number of measuring instruments is reduced and calculation errors are minimized, in an electric power system.
The device for determining the installation position of a measuring instrument comprises a system data registration/recording means 11 for setting/registering the constitution of a power system, demand data and calculation conditions, a calculation data creating means 12 for creating the calculation data to be used for calculating the conditions for the power system from the registered data; an object power system voltage/tidal current distribution state determining means 13 for obtaining the plurality of voltages/tidal current distribution conditions of the power system to be calculated, for calculating the electric power amount at an installation position candidate of the measurement instrument; and a calculation data restoring means 14 for restoring the calculating data and calculated results. A means 15 for determining the installation position of the measuring instrument provisionally sets the position of the plurality of measuring instruments to be set in the system and calculates the system conditions, from the data obtained by the object power system voltage/tidal current distribution state determining means 13, to select the installation position of the plurality of measuring instruments. A calculation result outputting means 16 outputs the calculating data and the calculated results.
