In the disk camera recorder, when a shock determination means 41 recognizes the reception of external shocks, a pickup movement control means 42 applies a predetermined voltage to a stepping motor 232 to set a static excited state, thereby generating holding torque. Thus, the movement of an optical pickup 220 is regulated by the holding torque to counter shocks, and the positional shifting of the optical pickup 220 is prevented. Thus, the information processing operation of the optical pickup 220 is not stopped by the positional shifting caused by shocks, and an information processing is stably carried out for an optical disk D.
