A pulse battery charging device is provided with a current detecting means 3, which is installed to a charging/discharging route and detects a charging current supplied to a battery block 2, a control means 1 which detects a charging voltage and controls a current supplied from a charging circuit, based on the value of the charging current detected by means of the detecting means 3, a switching means 4 which is connected in series with the block 2 and a detecting means 3 in the charging/discharging route and makes the current supplied to the block 2 into pulses by intermittently turning on/off a constant current supplied from a constant-current circuit 5, and an electric charge storing means 6 which is connected in parallel with the switching means 4, a block 2, and a detecting means 3 and stores electric charges by using the current supplied from the charging circuit while the pulsated current is turned off.
