Title:
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REDUCING OXYGEN IN ATMOSPHERE FOR JOINING HOT SLAB
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3425715
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for reducing oxygen in atmosphere for joining hot slabs with which reduction of oxygen in the atmosphere in the vicinity of a part to be joined is executed uniformly, without delay and economically.
SOLUTION: This device is the device for reducing oxygen in the atmosphere for joining the hot slabs provided on a dislocation preventing plate 17A for a clamping device 17 and has gas discharging ports 2 which are planarly distributed in a spot-line shape and with which gas is dischargeable in the vicinity of the part to be joined and flow passages 3 to the gas discharging ports. Using a device that the total area of the gas discharging ports satisfies a choking condition taking the initial pressure of the gas and pressure drop in the flow passages into consideration, nonoxidizing gas or reducing gas is discharged from the gas discharging parts at a flow rate for taking the concentration of oxygen in the atmosphere in the butt gap 8 as not more than the allowable value at the time of joining the slabs and at a flow rate at which the internal pressure of the flow passage can be held higher than the outside-air pressure by ≥1.5 mmAq at the time other than the time of joining the slabs.
