Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Reed-Solomon encoding device and its method which can perform Reed-Solomon encoding, in correspondence with primitive polynomials, generation polynomials and changes in error correction numbers.
SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a generation polynomial coefficient generating block 1 which takes a primitive polynomial set value 4 and a generation initial value 3 as inputs, extends a generation polynomial by using these and obtains coefficient data 8 and a data encoding block 2 which takes the primitive polynomial set value 4 as an input, and by using this, devides an information polynomial by the generation polynomial and performs encoding of data.
