To automatically suppress chine walk.SOLUTION: A steering control device for vessel is provided having an acquirement unit for acquiring at least one behavior of a hull regarding deviation in at least one direction of a rolling direction, a yaw direction, and a right and left direction, and at least one of a steering load and a handle operation load as behavior information of the hull, a determination unit for determining whether or not an execution condition for transition into a counter steering mode for carrying out counter steering, and a control unit for transition into the counter steering mode when determined that the execution condition is established. The control unit steers and controls to carry out counter steering in the direction suppressing at least one portion of the behavior of the hull 13 based on the acquired behavior information in the counter steering mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
