To provide a device and a method for treating a molded end of a container, which impart high moisture permeation resistance to an end of a flange of a base material, which make a base material and a thermoplastic sheet hardly separated from each other, which prevent a consumer from feeling uncomfortable, even if he/she touches the end, and which make the end molded in such a shape as to be hardly caught in its periphery.
A plurality of rollers 50 each have a groove 51 formed on the circumference which groove has a cross-sectional shape changing partially and is formed in a spiral form from one end side to the other end side, and are erected on a circumferential surface synchronously-rotatably with the axis on the circumference Q so that the grooves 51 opposite to each other in the spiral direction and the axis of the circumference are identical to each other. When the container B with the almost circularly molded end B3 is mounted in the circle Q which is arranged on the side of one end of the roller 50, the end B3 is fitted into the one-end side groove 51 of the roller 50 along with the synchronous rotation of the roller 50, and moved to the other end side along the inside of the groove 51; and in these steps, the end of the container B is subjected to working treatment depending on a change in the cross-sectional shape of the groove 51.
