To provide a new method and a device for winding an optical fiber on a bobbin, by which the optical fiber can surely alternately be wound on bobbins.
The device is equipped with accepting plates 5a, 5b having larger size than the flanges 9 of bobbins 2a, 2b as integrated with a pair of rotation axes 1a, 1b disposed parallel to each other and also equipped with clamping tools 11 on the inner faces of the periphery of the bobbin accepting plates 5a, 5b so as to hold an optical fiber F extending from a pulley 3, and with a cutter 8 near the bobbin accepting plates 5a, 5b to cut the optical fiber F held by the clamping tool 11. This avoids failure in holding the optical fiber by the clamping tool during exchanging the bobbins and the fiber can surely alternately be wound on the bobbins.
