Abstract:
To provide a recording/reproducing device and recording/reproducing method capable of easily updating firmware on the basis of updated information acquired through a network with a simple structure.
An MPU 22 accepts a version-upgrading request of the firmware from a PC 30 through the network 29. The MPU 22 outputs a request of version-upgrading data of the firmware to a version-upgrading site 31 through the network 29, and acquires the version-upgrading data obtained from the version-upgrading site 31 through the network 29.
