PURPOSE: To ensure the safety of an elevator for carrying out a traveling door open operation on arriving at a floor by providing a device which prohibits traveling door opening while carrying out stopping door opening in which a door opining command is outputted after brake is released, at the time of detecting any abnormality in the manipulation of operation during the operation of the elevator.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of the normal operation of an elevator, since a contact 1A is off, a relay 2 is also off and, as a traveling door opening operation sequence is established, a relay 4 is energized turning on a contact 4A while also energizing a relay 8 to output a door opening command. If any abnormality occurs during the operation of the elevator, the abnormality detecting contact 1A is turned on energizing the relay 2, which is self-held by means of a contact 2A. At the same time, a traveling door opening operation manipulating circuit is opened due to the turning on of a contact 2B, prohibiting a traveling door opening command relay 4 from being energized. Instead, as a condition according to a door open zone detecting relay normally opening contact 5A and a brake open confirming normally closed signal 6b is established by means of the turning on of the contact 2A, a stopping door opening relay 7 and the relay 8 are energized.
