Title:
DEVICE FOR PERFORMING FREQUENCY CONVERSION OF DIGITAL SIGNAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07154152
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the cost of a device for converting frequency of digital signal by simplifying the constitution of the device by providing a plurality of stages each composed of a mixer which converts digital signals into IF signals, an LPF which prevents looping, and a decimator which resamples data at a lower rate. CONSTITUTION: A device for converting frequency of digital signal is composed of multiple stages each composed of a mixer, a filter, and a decimator (MFD), the mixer 202 fetches signals Iin, Qin representing a complex signal I+jQ and the mixer 202 is composed of a multiplier 204 and an adder 206 and outputs IF signals upon receiving signals (A+jB) of a cosine component A and a sine component B. The comb-line filter 222 removes noise caused by looping effect from the IF signals and the decimator 242 outputs data sampled by setting the data rate at 1/N. Therefore, the constitution of the device becomes simple and the cost of the device is reduced as compared with the case where a single complicated high-frequency mixer is used, because the stages operate at different rates and mixed operation is broken up into simple operations.
