PURPOSE: To enhance the efficiency in recovering the soot contg. fullerenes and to continuously operate the device.
CONSTITUTION: A plasma producing part A is set at the lower part of a chamber 24, an exhaust port 32 is provided at the upper part, an endless rotatable belt 34 is furnished below the plasma producing part A and the exhaust port 32, and blades 38 and 40 are provided to scrape off the soot depositing on the belt 34. As a result, the soot contg. the fullerenes formed at the plasma producing part A is allowed to flow toward the exhaust port 32 and deposited on the belt 34. The deposited soot is scraped off by the blades 38 and 40 and recovered in a storage zone 42. Most of the soot formed in the plasma producing part A is not scattered in all directions in a reaction chamber but deposited on the belt 34 and recovered, and hence the soot and the fullerenes contained in the soot are most efficiently recovered. Besides, the device is continuously operated for a long time without any interruption.
