Abstract:

To provide a device for removing zinc vapor in a snout capable of preventing the adhesion of zinc powder to a jet cooler without introducing an atmosphere gas contg. the zinc vapor generated in the snout to the outside of the system.

A zinc vapor cooler 14 of a removable water cooling system is pendently installed in the ceiling part 15 of a regulated cooling zone 4 downstream of the jet cooling zone 3 of a continuous annealing furnace 1 of a continuous hot dip galvanizing line. A receiving tray 20 is disposed between this zinc vapor cooler 14 and a steel strip 9. The zinc vapor infiltrating through the snout 7 is cooled and sublimated to the solidifying point or below, by which the zinc vapor is removed.
