Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a strip from damaging caused by foreign matter stuck to the strip while adjusting wear rate of a seal member by optionally setting relative velocity and relative direction of the seal member to the strip.
CONSTITUTION: The first seal members 2 having a through-hole 4 for the strip and a tip part of inclined surface 5a tapered toward outside of the furnace are fitted at the outer part of the opening part of a continuous heat treatment furnace T and roll group composed of at least two rolls containing a first and second rolls 11, 12 are arranged so as to be mutually faced while interposing the strip. The second seal members V are wound around the rolls in each group and the front and the back surfaces of the strip S near the tip part of the inclined surface 5a are pressed by the faced first rolls via the second seal member to near the bottom side part of the inclined surface 5a by the faced second rolls and the second seal member is rotatably arranged so as to make the inclined surface of the first seal member and the second seal member into surface contact.
