Abstract:
PURPOSE: To safely and accurately straighten a steel plate by providing a primary and secondary means for measuring the surface shape of a steel plate on the entry side of the straightening device and on the bottom face of a pressure ram, controlling straightening conditions based on the measured result and incorporating the straightening device in a rolling line.
CONSTITUTION: The primary measuring means 3 for the surface shape of the steel plate, a detecting means for the starting/trailing end of the steel plate, and a pulse generator are provided between the entry side conveyors 1a and 1c of the straightening device 2. Also, on the bottom face of the pressure ram 5 of the straightening device 2, the secondary measuring means 4 for the surface shape is provided. A movable and rotatable upper seating bar, for the purpose of changing the drawing down position in accordance with the deformed state of the steel plate S is assembled in the pressure ram 5; and a lower seating bar that receives the bottom face of the steel plate S is assembled in an opposing base 6. The steel plate S is transported and, after the surface shape is measured by the measuring means 3, is positioned under the pressure ram 5. Based on the measured result, the position of the upper and lower seating bar is determined, a pressure is applied, the ram 5 is raised, and the surface shape is measured again by the measuring means 4. Depending on whether the result is within the tolerance or not, the steel plate is either forwarded to the exit side conveyor or restraightened from the beginning.
