Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transporting device and method for continuing the operation of rolling by transporting a rolling material between rolling roll stands at the time of changing the driving system of the roll stands of a tandem mill.
SOLUTION: This device for transporting the material between the stands consists of a pair of upper and lower transporting rolls 4 which is incorporated in transporting roll stands 3 provided with devices 2 for adjusting the interval between the transporting rolls, a pair of universal spindles 5 which are connected to one end parts of both rolls of the upper and lower transporting rolls 4 and with which rotation is transmitted, a speed-reduction gear 7 which is connected to a pair of universal spindles 5 and with which decelerated rotation is transmitted and a driving motor 8 for driving the transporting rolls which is connected to the speed-reduction gear 7 with a shaft with which rotation is transmitted and is fixed on a transporting truck 9. At the time of changing the driving part system of the rolling roll stand of the tandem mill, the device 1 for transporting the material between the stands is incorporated in the rolling roll stands to be changed and adjustment of the transporting speed of the upper and lower transporting rolls 4 is enabled in accordance with the rolling speed on the outlet side of the rolling stand just before the device 1 for transporting the material between the stands.
