PURPOSE: To smoothen the treating process for the end part of a cross wire in a lattice mat by using a bending tool reciprocatable between the working position and the waiting position.
CONSTITUTION: The end portions E of the cross wires are simultaneously bent with one of bending devices A, B. The bending tool 10' is inserted into a process transferring line for the end portions E of the cross wires so as to serve as a stopper of the wire E transferred in the direction P1. When the position to end portion E of the cross wire is fixed, the bending die 14 is transferred to this working position. Successively, the bending tool 10' is turned to the position 10" by driving a motor and the end portion E of the cross wire is bent by pushing with the bending die 14. Successively, the bending die 14 is transferred to the waiting position in the vertical direction. The positions of the bending devices A, B can be transferred and fixed so as to match to the lattice.
