PURPOSE: To provide a starting/accelerating device for vehicle which can convert the torque of a driving shaft at the stop of the vehicle into an accelerating force at the start of the vehicle.

CONSTITUTION: A gear case 1 is fixed on the frame of a vehicle, and a main shaft 2 which revolves in interlocking with the driving shaft of the vehicle is axially supported on the gear case 1. A spring cylinder 10 is installed on the gear case 1, and a coil spring 11 in the spring cylinder 10 is connected with a drum 9 through a wire 13. The main shaft 2 and the drum 9 are connected by the stepping operation of a brake pedal 26, and the coil spring 11 is compressed by the drum 9. The coil spring 11 is held at the time point of compression, and the compression holding state is released by the stepping operation of an accelerating pedal 29. The main shaft 2 is applied with a torque by the spring urging force of the coil spring 11.
