Abstract:
To provide devices and methods for treating, reducing and preventing adverse skin/scalp conditions and enhancing the topical application of a benefit agent.SOLUTION: A device 1 includes a housing 2 having a bottom portion 3, the bottom portion 3 having a periphery 4 defining a housing opening 5, where edges of the periphery 4 form a planar application surface 6 adapted to a skin surface. The transducer 8 is positioned in the housing 2. The transducer 8 is oriented such that ultrasound waves are projected from the transducer 8 through the opening 5 at an angle other than 90° (or other than the right angle) relative to the application surface. A method comprises providing and orienting the device 1. The device 1 is ultrasonic with the transducer 8 positioned at an angle other than 90° relative to the surface to which ultrasound waves are to be applied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
