Title:
DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM FOR AUTOMOBILE COMPONENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3102998
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a diagnostic system for automobile component in which the micro difference between the normal sound and abnormal sound generated from an automobile component can be detected accurately through a relatively simple processing, i.e., distortion factor operation, and a defective component is prevented from being delivered to the market thus significantly contributing to the enhancement of quality in the production of automobile.
CONSTITUTION: The diagnostic system comprises a microphone for detecting the sound generated from an automobile component and delivering a corresponding electric signal, and a processor 20 for detecting abnormality in the automobile component based on the electric signal. The processor 20 for detecting abnormality comprises means 21 for operating the distortion factor μ3 of the electric signal, and means 23 for comparing the distortion factor with a reference value par. When the distortion factor μ3 exceeds a predetermined relationship to the reference value μ3r based on the comparison results of the comparing means 23, an alarm A is delivered. When a detected sound is composed sound components present only under normal state and the distortion factor μ3 is close a normal value, alarm is not delivered erroneously.
