PURPOSE: To prevent the red purple color intrinsic to a solar battery from obstructing the ornamental design in appearance by adhering and disposing the solar battery to the end face of a dial.

CONSTITUTION: The main surface of the dial is subjected to a surface treatment such as patterning and plating and a transparent resin layer 4 dispersed with the pulverous particles of a fluorescent pigment or dye is formed thereon to about 1mm thickness. The belt-like solar battery 5 is adhered to the dial so as to contact with the outside peripheral end face of the dial. The external light 6 made incident to the layer 4 excites the fluorescent pulverous particles in the layer 4 so as to emit fluorescence. The light emitted thereof repeats total reflection at the boundary face in the layer 4 and arrives at the solar battery 5 adhered and disposed to the outside periphery by which the light is transduced to the electric energy for driving the wristwatch. The industrial art surface on the main surface part subjected to the industrial art-like surface treatment of the wristwatch dial is thus utilized as it is and the solar battery 5 is positioned on the outside of the partition diameter so as not to be visually obstructive after the dial is built into a wristwatch case.
