PURPOSE: To provide a diamond saw for cutting stone or concrete in which wire element wires are never broken even when rubbed together in cutting.

CONSTITUTION: A lubricating agent consisting of oil and fat is impregnated in a wire rope 1 of a diamond wire saw. The lubricating agent is applied to a central strand. The central strand is covered with fibers impregnated with the lubricating agent. A central strand 1c is covered with rubber or synthetic resin. A cutting edge 3 having diamond beads fixed thereto is pressure-connected and fixed to the wire rope 1 impregnated with the lubricating agent or having the central strand 1c covered with rubber or synthetic resin through a core metal 2a by caulking. Three or more slits 2b are formed on the end circumferential direction of the core metal.
