Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the disturbance to a frequency characteristic, to reduce harmonic distortions, to obtain a clean and superior sound quality, also to make this loudspeaker light in weight and to increase output sound pressure by impregnating a thermosetting resin as a shape additive to fiber material and molding by coating ultrahigh molecular weight acrylic resin whose mean molecular weight is of specific value or more. SOLUTION: Polyester fiber material impregnated with 5% solution of phenol resin as a shape additive and coated twice with ultrahigh molecular weight acrylic resin, which has at least more than one million, e.g. 1.5 million, for the means molecular weight is formed into a dome shape. Measurement of coated cloth before molding in this configuration shows that mass per unit area is 92g/m<2> and air permeability is 0.05 cc/cm<2> . A speaker that is made with this diaphragm has a small peak dip at 1 to 20 kHz and sound pressure is increased by 1.6 dB by conventional ratio.
