PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of the vapor lock of a fuel injection diaphragm pump due to the temperature rise of the fuel in a pipe after an engine is stopped.
CONSTITUTION: A return passage 32 connecting the portion where the fuel vapor is liable to be retained upstream the pump chamber 12 of a diaphragm pump is provided, and the return passage 32 is opened or closed by a solenoid valve 31. The solenoid valve 31 is closed while an engine is operated and after it is stopped to hold the pressure in the system. When the engine is started, the solenoid valve 31 is opened for a preset period, the fuel oil is returned to a fuel tank 1 from a feed pump 2 via the return passage 32, and the vapor generated while the engine is stopped is discharged to the fuel tank 1.
