Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diazonium salt which reacts with a coupler and is color- developed in reddish series and furthermore is dissolved into capsuled oil at a high concentration.
SOLUTION: The diazonium salt shown in a formula is used for a thermal recording medium. Wherein, R in the formula denotes an alkyl group, more suitably a t-buthyl or sec-buthyl group. Further, X- denotes hexafluorophosphate ion or the like. The curve (a) in a figure shows the absorption spectrum of a dimethyl sulfoxide solution after reaction of the diazonium salt with naphthol AS in a dimethyl sulfoxide solution and it is understood that the dimethyl sulfoxide solution after reaction is color-developed in magenta. The curve (b) shows the absorption spectrum of the dimethyl sulfoxide solution after reaction of diazonium salt with naphthol AS-G in the dimethyl sulfoxide solution and it is understood that the dimethyl sulfoxide solution after reaction is color- developed in yellow.
