EXAMPLE: 5,6-Dihydro-5-methyl-11-oxodibenz[6,e]azepin-2-acetic acid.
USE: Antiflammatory analgesics free from troubles of digestive tracts. It is more excellent in the action than phenylbutazone.
PREPARATION: The novel compound of formula II (Q1is COOR5; Q2 is COOH) preared according to a reaction equation given is subjected to ring closure in the presence or absence of an inert solvent such as methylene chloride, chloroform or carbon tetrachloride to form the compound of formulaI. The ring closure is carried out at a temperature lower than 800°C preferably for 1W30hr and the use of a condensing agent such as polyphosphoric acid and the atmosphere of an inert gas promote the smooth cylization.
