Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel dicholesteryl diacetylene derivative which is capable of being synthesized by a simple method, and with which an organic solvent gels and the gel shows a unique change in color tone by irradiation of a light, and which is useful for manufacturing a fibrous polydiacetylene by photopolymerization, and to provide a gelling agent therefrom, its manufacturing method, and a technology to obtain an organic gel having photopolymerization ability and a fibrous polydiacetylene.
SOLUTION: This dicholesteryl diacetylene derivative represented by general formula (1) and a gel formed with the derivative and an organic solvent are patented (wherein n is an integer of 1-18; A is a 2-18C aliphatic or aromatic divalent group and it may contain a hetero atom such as oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, etc., or an unsaturated bond).
