PURPOSE: To obtain a product having no foam and flash by maintaining a negative pressure in the cavity of a die by a vacuum pump and opening a valve disk in a pouring basin thereby pouring a molten metal into the cavity.

CONSTITUTION: This device consists of main parts including a stationary plate 1, a movable platen 2, a stationary die 3 and a moving die 4. The moving die 4 is brought into contact with the stationary die 3 and a piston rod 53 of a cylinder 52 is lowered to close a pouring port 34 with a valve disk 54 and thereafter the air in the cavity C is sucked through an air vent hole 36 by the vacuum pump. The hole 36 is closed when a prescribed degree of pressure reduction is attained. The melt of a light alloy such as aluminum is then poured into the pouring basin 33 and the disk 54 is raised to fill the molten metal in the cavity C. The die 4 retreats and the product is taken out upon solidification of the molten metal. The product having no foam and flash is obtd. by such constitution and the sure operation is made possible at low initial cost. There is also a method for pouring by forming a thin sheet of aluminum, etc., into the valve disk and melting the same by pouring, in addition to the above- mentioned method.
