Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die protective device of the servo press and its method capable of preventing breakage of the die by detecting an abnormally excessive load according to the die. SOLUTION: A servo press to vertically move a slide by an electric servo motor 15 is provided with a slide position detecting means 6 to detect the slide position, a motor current sensor 25 to detect the current value of the electric servo motor 15, a motion setting means 21 to set the pressing force of the maximum capacity necessary for pressing and the slide position, and the motion data of the slide according to the die, and a controller 10 to obtain the pressing force of the slide based on the detected motor current value, to check whether or not the obtained pressing force exceeds the maximum pressing capacity when the slide is above the preset position and the work pressing area is at an arbitrary position, and make an emergency stop of the slide as an abnormal condition when the maximum pressing capacity is exceeded.
