PURPOSE: To improve the number of punching times of a press working machine by adding specific amounts of metallic elements having high amorphous substance forming ability to Fe-B.
CONSTITUTION: A die in a press working machine is formed of an alloy represented by (Fe1-aCOa)bBxTyT'z. In the above formula, T means one or ≥2 elements selected from Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mo, and W and includes Zr and/or Hf. T' means one or ≥2 elements selected from Cu, Ag, Au, Ni, Pd, and Pt, a≤0.05, and the symbols (b), (x), (y), and (z) stand for, by atom, ≤92%, 0.5 to 16%, 4-10%, and 0.2-4.5%, respectively. A die is formed by subjecting a superfine grained Fe alloy of ≤0.5μm grain diameter having the above composition and 900-1400 hardness Hv to compacting and sintering. This die has high mechanical properties and thermal stability and further has superior characteristics, e.g. of improved number of punching times.
