Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic suitable for constituting a dielectric layer for a laminated ceramic capacitor or the like in which the temperature characteristic of an electrostatic capacity are satisfactory, and base metal such as nickel can be used as inside conductive materials, and burning can be attained in reducing atmosphere.
SOLUTION: This dielectric ceramic can be obtained by burning barium titanate-based powder in which the ratio of (c) axis/(a) axis of a perovskite structure is 1.003-1.010, and OH group quantity in a crystal lattice is 1 wt.% or less. It is desired that the barium titanate powder as raw material has the maximum grain size of 0.5 μm or less, and the mean grain size of 0.1-0.3 μm, and one power grain is constituted of a low crystalline part 21 and a high crystalline part 23 and the diameter of the low crystalline part 21 is 0.65 of the powder grain size or less. Moreover, conspicuous grain growth is suppressed so that a ratio R of (the mean grain size of the dielectric ceramic after burning)/(the mean grain size of the barium titanate powder of the raw material) may be in the range from 0.90-1.2 at the time of burning.
