Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a terminally functionalized polymer which is suitable for the formation of the tread part of a tire having a decreased rolling resistance by reacting a living diene polymer or copolymer obtained by anionic polymerization with a specific substituted imine.
CONSTITUTION: The title diene polymer or copolymer is prepared by reacting a living polymer obtained by the anionic polymerization of a diene monomer or mixture of a diene monomer and a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer with a compound of the formula, wherein R1 and R2 are selected from among H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, dialkylaminoaryl and aralkyl, and R3 form among alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, dialkylaminoaryl and aralkyl, provided that at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is a dialkylaminoaryl group and not all of R1 to R3 are aryl groups at the same time.
